Towards healing: insights into the complexities of perinatal health

Gidget Foundation Australia is delighted to announce our inaugural Perinatal Mental Health Conference 2022 which will be held in Sydney on Monday 16 May. We are thrilled to be joined by some inspirational presenters and leaders within the perinatal field, who will be discussing the latest approaches, thoughts, theories, and research into perinatal mental health.

The theme of the Conference is centred around recovering from perinatal depression and anxiety (PNDA) and perinatal related trauma. Perinatal mental health is complex. We know that those affected are at their most vulnerable, which is often when unexpected and unresolved issues arise. In these times, if we acknowledge that healing is a process and look at it through this lens, then we know it takes time, patience, and evidence-based interventions as well as warmth, compassion, and creativity to enable the healing process to begin.

We are excited to provide this opportunity for health professionals looking to broaden their skills and deepen their understanding of perinatal work.
